Opera at the Abbey

We were delighted to welcome the Connaught Opera to the community centre for a wonderful evening of songs and performance. Our hall was packed full and our Kilburn Good Neighbours and CTC members charmed by the close- quarters singing, which stirred the emotions and raised the spirits. Doing the Lambeth Walk was a popular favourite with its jaunty catchy lyrics and tune, while an aria from Madame Butterfly stilled the room as the beautiful soprano voice sung for her love, matched by the wonderful male tenor. The costume changes were also delightful, visually capturing some of the drama embodied in the singing. Members of the audience were truly wowed, and some were caught in the spotlight as our visiting singers took to the floor and serenaded individuals in their seats. It was a memorable gem of an evening. If you haven’t been before this is certainly one to watch out for in the future.    DSC01941 DSC01942 DSC01949 DSC01953 DSC01954 DSC01964
