The happy gang!
An intrepid bunch of CTCers brushed off their Freedom Passes and headed down to the British Museum to go behind the scenes last week. We were brilliantly hosted by the museum’s Community Participation team who talked to us about exciting artefacts, particularly from the Money collection, then treated us to a bit of a tour (and tea and biscuits!). Who knew that necklaces made from shells, gold dust and brass plates the size of a whole person have all been used as money in different parts of the world! We even had the chance to touch some of the exhibits. A great day out. Thank you. We look forward to coming back soon and looking at more of the wonderful galleries in the museum.
