Growing Buddies project continues

PrintThis week, as part of our ‘Growing Buddies’ project, our creative and green fingered volunteers finished off their brilliant herb planters made from recycled cans. These bright and happy flower pots will now become gifts for our older neighbours and to bring the outside in for those less able to get out and enjoy the Abbey Community Centre garden. Such lovely messages of support and friendship. One read:

To my neighbour, I hope you enjoy! Love Mary. This pot contains pansy, lettuce and garlic chives. Please water once a week!

Next week we’ll be making decorative bird feeders and nesters so people can enjoy watching wildlife from their windows.

We can’t wait to take them round to their new owners!

A big thank you to everyone at coffee morning, and especially to Pam and Pam, who kept everyone going by making lots of tea and sandwiches! This week was also the first week back for our popular gentle dancing class and so it also fuelled everyone up for that!
