Fun in the garden

We’ve been making the most of the last of the warm sunshine together in the garden these last few weeks with lots of activities using the great outdoors from playing conkers to making cushions – all using recycled materials

Now we’re moving onto preparing the garden for winter and next spring – pruning the roses back, planting daffodil bulbs and making bird feeders. Our crochet group have even been making woolly flowers to brighten the place up even if it starts snowing!

Our Growing Buddies volunteers have also been helping to take a little bit of the magic of the Abbey Community Centre garden into the homes of older people around the local area who aren’t so able to come and enjoy it with us each week. They’ve been taking beautifully decorated recycled planters, bird feeders and balcony and windowsill decorations round to their house and having a chat and a cup of tea at the same time.
