A wonderful Kew-munity day

To celebrate our Simone being back from holiday, her Neighbours2Friends group headed out on an adventure to Kew last Saturday. The overground goes straight from West Hampstead to Kew, so in no time at all it was as if the group had been transported to another country. Beautiful weather too.

Everyone was overwhelmed by the vastness of the place. Another trip may be in order soon to cover the rest of it as the group probably managed to walk around half the gardens! One chap hitched a ride on Kew’s tram service for a fiver which allowed him to explore different areas quickly and easily.

The lilyponds were a particular favourite. Thanks Gavin for these beautiful photos. The fuzzy red thing is called ‘red hot cat-tail!’

We paid for Kew’s community membership offer (£30 per year) which meant everyone could attend free of charge. The next Neighbours2Friends trip will take place this Saturday – we’ve been given some free tickets from the wonderful people at London Zoo which is fantastic!
