Santa Claus truly came to town – all thanks to you!

Yesterday at the centre we had a very special Children’s Christmas party with our usual winning combination of festive snacks, parachute games, a sing-a-long and a visit from Santa himself. However, something made it all extra lovely this year.

Last week we put out some calls for donations of Christmas presents online. We like to give out something to all the kids every year as some of the families don’t have much in the way of money for gifts. Sometimes we get donations from companies but that wasn’t to be this year so we appealed to the Kilburn community on Twitter and Nextdoor. And my goodness they delivered!

We received enough gifts for every family, many brand new, and we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone for their generosity. It meant an awful lot to us and as you’ll see from the photos, to the kids as well.

Santa’s grotto and party food all set up!

When the parachute comes out we know the festive season has truly begun… Then it was time for some carols!

Meanwhile there was excitement in the air as we knew Santa was on his her way!

(Thanks Diana for that big pile under the tree there!) Everyone visited the ‘grotto’ one at a time and got their own lovely Christmas present after a high five with Santa.

Everyone was happy after a glorious morning.

Huge thanks again from all the Children’s Services staff and volunteers as well as our families. We are really grateful to everyone who donated us something. We even have some presents left over and these will be given out next week to any families who couldn’t make the event.

We can’t accept any more gift donations but always very much welcome cash donations (especially now in these tricky and uncertain political climes!). Click here for more info on how to donate.

Thank you and happy Christmas!!
