Good Neighbour Schemes

There are two good neighbour schemes running from the Abbey Community Centre:

Kilburn Good Neighbours has been running for over 17 years and offers a befriending and practical help service for over 60s in Kilburn who may have become isolated or may be housebound.  We have an active and dedicated team of over 40 volunteers from all walks of life who enjoy their visits as much as the person they have been matched with.  We also offer a regular newsletter and a series of events and trips that members can enjoy.  The scheme can also act as a ‘safety net’ for people who may just need to contact us in times of specific need.  We also have a small team of ‘drop in’ volunteers who can pop by for 15-20 minutes in their lunch hour or way home from work to check up on members and drop in a pint of milk/magazine etc. if that is what you would like. If you would like to find out how to become a member of Kilburn Good Neighbours or a volunteer, please contact Joanna on 020 7604 4823.

Kilburn Good Neighbours has window cleaning, gardening and D.I.Y. volunteers to help members with small jobs they cannot manage any longer.  Give us a call to have a chat about any help you may need…
